Microsoft's Hakl explains the 5G payoff

MWC24 – BARCELONA – Shawn Hakl is VP of 5G strategy for Microsoft, helping to drive the sale of the company's new Azure Operator Nexus platform.
That platform stems directly from the telecom technology Microsoft acquired from Affirmed Networks, Metaswitch Networks and AT&T. Emirati operator Etisalat emerged this week as Microsoft's second customer for Microsoft's Nexus platform after AT&T.
Hakl spoke with Light Reading about Microsoft's overall strategy in the telecom industry, where it's heading this year and how AI plays into its plans.
